Tool #11

I would like to look into edmoto for my class. I think it may be too difficult for 2d graders. I have planned a SKYPing lesson with a class in Canada to discuss weather.

I feel that I need to let go of the control in order to accommodate the 21st Century learner.

I enjoyed the 11 Tools! Thank goodness for Linsey Stutts!!!

Tool #10

I will begin with teaching the appropriate manner and the use of the internet tools that are available to us.  We will incorporate frequent reminders of responsible ways to utilize the internet throughout the school year. We will make a set of rules related to the devices we will get(I-pads and I-Touches). Digital Citizenship, Online Behavior, and Copyright Use are all topics I want to teach my students.

Tool #9

You want to start with the curriculum and plan activities that would enhance the lesson.I would have the students choose a tool to have them complete their project.
I feel they should be held accountable for the stations so that they know they have to complete something to turn in and to be checked.
Create an open ended /closed sentences documents for students to complete.
I explored Studyladder and Games for kids. I am looking forward to using them in center activities.Fun states game!
I can have the students work as a group in puppet pals to write a story and then pick their puppets and add background and voices. I plan to use Coins in math centers, screenchamp would be great for kids to use to retell stories, explain directions, ect.....
iPad can be used for SKYPEing.

Tool #8

Having these things will be fun in the classroom! I learned what the new netbooks will look like and how they operate. I am anxious to learn more about how to use them. I plan on handing them out and checking that they are all plugged in. After a while, I plan on having a helper check to make sure they are plugged in daily.

Tool #7

My collaborative project will be to SKYPE with a classroom at Northern Lights Elem. in Ontario, Canada. I have been in contact with Mrs. Goldman, 3rd grade teacher, and next winter we plan on doing a winter weather unit. The time difference is only 1 hour and they have all the technical facilities to SKYPE. As an enrichment math experience, the students will learn how to convert Fahrenheit to Centigrade and vice versa.

Tool #6

We met about this tool and feel it would be better used in the upper grades. We experimented with backchanneling on Today's Meet.

We could use SKYPE a lot of ways. We could communicate with other 2nd grade classes about topics we are learning about. I want to try it out by finding a bird expert and SKYPEing to that person.

Tool #5 - Part 2

Wordle: Valentine

This would be a great way to take notes and to make a presentation.

Tool #5-Part 1

I could use this to showcase our Famous Heroes reports. This could also be used for Open House showing all the different things we do.

Tool #3

Shape up for 2012

I like You Tube because there are so many things that I can use with my students. I also like Discovery Education. It has so many videos on famous Americans that we use in the classroom.

You can use anything floating around out there as long as you don't republish or make money from it. You must give credit to who made it.

This is great! It will be so nice to have everything in one place.

Tool #2

This will be fun to keep up with other educators. What stood out to me is to ask questions in order to have more interaction. I only commented to others about their voki. I would rather talk to my teammate because there is not a lot of emotion online.I will use this site to help me understand more about PLN http://edupln.ning.com/
